The Chardham yatra:Yamonotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath starts every year from the first or second week of May that is from Akshaya Tritye. This year it will start from 7th of May.
Although the temple at Badrinath is open through out the year, the Kedarnath temple opensfrom Akshaya Tritye. The Shiv temple at Kedarnath is one of the Jyotirlinga among the twelve .
The yatra basically starts from Rishikesh. You can reach Rishikesh either by train or road, hiring your own car or a private bus or uttaranchal tourism bus.
